‘Once upon a time, textile artist, Maria Walker purchased a bundle of letters from an antique shop in Cheshire. Five years later she met the poet Angela Topping and they discovered the letters were written by Angela’s grand parents.

An exciting and thought-provoking exhibition celebrating the fusion of textile art, poetry and working class life by Maria Walker and Angela Topping. Inspired by this amazing coincidence, the artists explore the narrative contained in these letters through a combination of textiles, photographs, embroidery, ephemera, poetry and text.
