"Weave: Fragments" was a contemporary textile and craft installation exhibition held at the historic Sunny Bank Mills in Farsley, Leeds. The exhibition ran from 19th May 2017 to 27th August 2017.
Six specialized artists responded to the core concept of "Weave: Fragments". The artwork deeply explored the multi-layered definitions of the word "weave," using it both as a literal textile technique and a metaphor for industrial memory, landscape, and time.
Rather than using a sterile modern gallery, the installation utilized the raw, atmospheric backdrop of The Finishing Room, allowing the architectural history of loose cables, old brickwork, and empty machinery floors to merge seamlessly with the contemporary craft.
