Blood Moon is a tangle of blood-red wrapped cord spills out of a full-sized treadle sewing machine inviting the viewer to consider the multitude of emotions surrounding menstruation, childbirth, and menopause.

My work explores the concept of “womanhood” using the visual metaphor of blood. Whilst blood runs through all of our veins, women have a special relationship to it through menstruation and childbirth- basicall we see a lot of throughout our lives.

Through the process of wrapping and binding I distorts the fabric to create cords that twist and turn, merge and meld, and weave in and out, forming the tangled warp and weft of daily life.
